Fitment & Compatibility Guide

Last updated: October 25, 2026

Fitment mistakes are the single biggest cause of returns in auto parts. This guide explains how to check compatibility before you order, and what happens if a part turns out not to fit.

1. The four things that decide fitment

  1. Year, make and model — for example 2016 Toyota Corolla.
  2. Trim and body style — LE, SE, XSE, sedan or hatchback. Different trims of the same model can use different parts.
  3. Engine and transmission — engine code, displacement, fuel type, turbo or naturally aspirated, manual or automatic.
  4. Production date and market — early and late production runs in the same model year often differ, and US, Japanese and European market versions of the same model can use different parts.

Mid-year changes are common. If your vehicle was built around a model-year changeover, check the production month on the door-jamb sticker.

2. Use your VIN

The 17-character Vehicle Identification Number is the most reliable way to confirm compatibility. You can find it:

  • On the driver’s side dashboard, visible through the windscreen.
  • On the driver’s door jamb or door frame sticker.
  • On your registration, title and insurance documents.

Send us your VIN before ordering if you want us to confirm fitment — we will check it against the part specification. Email support@kerorong.com.

3. Compare the OEM part number

If you are replacing an existing part, the number moulded or stamped on the old part is the strongest cross-reference available. Compare it with the OEM numbers listed on the product page. Where a part has been superseded, the product page lists both the old and the new number.

Where a listing shows several OEM numbers, they are interchangeable replacements for the same application, not a kit of multiple parts — unless the listing explicitly says otherwise.

4. Check the listing details, not just the title

Before ordering, read the full listing and confirm:

  • Quantity — “2pcs” means two pieces, “set” usually means a left and right pair.
  • Side and position — left/driver side and right/passenger side are different parts, and on right-hand-drive vehicles the sides are reversed.
  • Dimensions, thread size, connector type and mounting points.
  • Whether the part is a genuine, OEM or aftermarket replacement.

5. Our fitment data is guidance, not a guarantee

Fitment information on this site is compiled from manufacturer and supplier data and is provided to help you narrow down the right part. Vehicle data can change without notice and errors are possible. You are responsible for confirming fitment before ordering and before installation.

6. If the part does not fit

Contact us within 30 days of delivery with photos of the part and, if it was fitted, photos of the attempt. An uninstalled part in original packaging can be returned under our Refund & Return Policy. A part that has been installed cannot be returned — which is why you should always dry-fit and compare before final installation.

7. Installation

We recommend installation by a qualified technician following the vehicle manufacturer’s procedures and torque specifications. Compare the new part with the old one before fitting it. Do not force a part into position — if it does not seat by hand, stop and check compatibility. We are not responsible for damage caused by incorrect installation or by installing a part on a vehicle it was not verified for.

8. Parts we do not sell

We do not sell brake friction components, tyres, lighting assemblies, mirrors, seat belts or airbag components, steering or suspension components, child restraint seats or towing couplings. Any such listing is an error and will be cancelled and refunded.
